Our Brief History

Established in August 2019 within a modest townhouse and initially welcoming just four students, Nuh’s Ark Preschool quickly outgrew its first home. By January 2020, by God’s grace, we expanded into a larger facility.
Currently, Nuh’s Ark Preschool caters to children from Pre-School until 1st Grade, totaling 22 students.
Responding to growing demand of the community, we are introducing Nuh’s Ark Academy, a pilot program designed to support homeschooled students from Grades 1 through 4 across various subjects. If successful, by the grace of God, the pilot program will become an academy serving our children up to the 8th grade.

Our Philosophy and Approach
Education is a lifelong journey. Early childhood is an especially delicate period as the young learner must be gently guided toward cultivating the proper attitude, behavior, and ethic to allow for full engagement with their teachers and learning process. Through our process we attempt to foster and inculcate creativity, curiosity, and courage so our children’s young minds persist in this lifelong journey of discovery, growth, and awe.

Micro-Academy

Small by design, large in vision. Your child is never lost in the crowd. With only a few classmates, each child represents a significant portion of their cohort and with that plays an important and visible role in the daily interactions with teachers and other students.
Integrated Curriculum

Weaving science-backed contemporary teaching styles with the classical nurtured upbringing (“tar-bee-ah”) of Islamic culture, we continue the tradition with a modern educational appeal that will give the best of both old and new to our children.
6:1 Ratio

Keeping the student to teacher ratio low allows for closer observation, instruction, and modeling for each child as an individual and unique person. Children left unattended tend to unravel with the gravity of unrefined behavior pulling everyone down.
On the Journey of Learning and Growth…

Not all paths are straight.
The path of development and learning is not a linear path, although we think of it as a journey with an origin and a destination. From that origin of unrefined stone we journey along to become a refined jewel, but we may take turns, slow down, and regress, but ultimately we triumph thru persistence and progress toward our goal. Balance is key.
Obstacles are only natural.
The role of the teacher is primarily to create a nourishing space for the young mind to grow. Additionally, the teacher acts as a guide to help indicate the way forward for the student as well as potentially help remove obstacles that may obscure that way forward.

Harmony and self-direction is the goal.
We first must learn how to balance between sometimes conflicting motivations and aspirations, but through iteration and guidance we understand how to achieve harmony between the different aspects of our constitution. Like walking on two feet, this takes balance. Additionally the student learns etiquette (adab) thru imitating the behavior modeled by the teacher until it becomes internalized and serves as a criterion for self-direction. This is the final goal of education; to become self actualized life long learners with harmony and self-direction.
And don’t forget to nourish the body!
We must not forget our children need outdoor time and nature is very nourishing to the mind and soul, not to mention body.
Physical activity is key to maintaining a healthy mind and behavioral balance.
In addition to outdoor time, our kids are fed wholesome, nutritious home-cooked meals right from our own kitchen. We only use organic, whole-food ingredients.
What we put into our bodies and mind ultimately make us who we are over time. Just as the body is nourished through wholesome food, so is the mind and heart!
